Privacy notice
The short version: everything you type into a calculator stays in your browser and is never sent to us. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no advertising trackers.
Who is responsible
Budget and Bricks is run by an individual, not a company. For any question about privacy or your data, email moneyplanadmin@gmail.com and it will reach the person responsible for the site.
What happens to what you type
All calculations run inside your own browser using JavaScript. The figures you enter, such as property prices, salaries, balances and rates, are never transmitted to us, never written to a database and never stored anywhere once you close the page. There is no server that receives them, which is why the site can make this promise plainly.
This also means we cannot recover your figures for you. Nothing is saved between visits.
Information collected automatically
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, its servers record technical information when a page is requested, which typically includes your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser type and the page you arrived from. This is standard operation of the internet rather than a choice we have made, and it is used for security and to keep the site running.
Vercel acts as our hosting provider and processes this on our behalf. Their own privacy documentation covers how they handle it.
Fonts loaded from Google
The typefaces used on this site are currently loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google states that it does not use these requests to build advertising profiles, but the transfer does happen and we would rather say so than not.
We intend to host the fonts directly from this site in a future update, which will remove this entirely.
Analytics and advertising
There is currently no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind on this site. If that changes, this page will be updated first, a consent banner will appear, and nothing non-essential will run before you have agreed to it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you, including the right to ask what is held, to have it corrected or erased, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Because this site holds no accounts and stores nothing you enter, in practice there is very little for us to hold. If you want to ask about server logs, email the address above.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been handled improperly.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be updated if the site changes, particularly before any advertising or analytics is introduced. The date at the bottom shows when it was last revised.
